Advocacy In Action
Sample Supports is a proud member of Alliance and contributors to the COIDD Alliance Political Action Committee
At Sample Supports, we know that lasting change happens not only through the services we provide but also through the systems we help shape. Our team is actively engaged in political activism and advocacy, regularly meeting with legislators to share stories, highlight challenges, and propose solutions that impact individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. By building relationships with policymakers and speaking up for the people we serve, we ensure that their voices are heard at the state and local levels. This work strengthens protections, expands opportunities, and drives forward the inclusive policies that help our communities thrive.
Recent Federal Policy Update 6.18.2026
On June 18, 2026, the U.S. Department of Justice Office of Legal Counsel released a memorandum regarding the integration mandate under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and the Supreme Court’s decision in Olmstead v. L.C.. The memo has prompted significant discussion within the disability community because it presents a narrower interpretation of the federal government’s role in enforcing community integration requirements.
Organizations representing community disability providers, including ANCOR, have expressed concern about the potential impact this interpretation could have on people with disabilities and the services that support independent community living.
We encourage anyone interested in learning more to review both documents below:
- U.S. Department of Justice Office of Legal Counsel Memorandum
- ANCOR’s Response to the DOJ Memorandum
Sample Supports remains committed to supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in living, working, and participating fully in their communities. We encourage our community to stay informed about developments that may affect disability services and community integration.

Ancor DSP Ambassador: Christina
We’re thrilled to share that Christina Phillips, one of our incredible Denver Direct Support Professionals, went to our Nation’s capital as part of ANCOR’s inaugural DSP Ambassador Program! Christina spent the week alongside other DSP leaders from across the country, building her skills as a storyteller, advocate, and spokesperson for the field. She was representing all DSPs and standing up for inclusion and equity for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Check out the photos: We’re so proud to see Christina shining on a National stage! Her voice matters, and her impact is already being felt.
