SCC/SE Program Manager - Boulder County

Makayl is a compassionate, adaptable, and people-focused professional with a strong foundation in social services, education, and community support, currently leading the SCC/SE team for Boulder County. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Science and is currently pursuing her Master of Social Work (MSW) through the University of Nevada, Reno.

With significant hands-on experience across a wide range of human-centered roles—from teaching and youth recreation to homelessness services and living skills support—Makayl brings both heart and skill to every environment she steps into.

Her career reflects a genuine love for helping others grow, feel supported, and access opportunities. She has worked as a Living Skills Specialist at the Howard Center, supported individuals in shelter programs at COTS, served as a K–12 substitute teacher, and held multiple roles in community recreation. Whether she’s providing direct support, teaching, problem-solving in fast-paced environments, or creating stability for people facing hardship, Makayl is known for her positive attitude, reliability, and ability to meet people where they are.

In addition to her social service experience, Makayl has a long history of customer-facing and hospitality roles—including work in tourism, retail, food service, and reservations—giving her an exceptional ability to connect with diverse individuals and navigate complex interpersonal situations with ease. Her TEFL certification, CPR training, and strong communication skills further support her ability to teach, guide, and empower others.
